I am waaaaayyyy late on doing this blog post…but late is better than never…right? (—>sheepish grin<—)
Our church back in mid-March held it’s second Night of Worship. We were honored to asked to be a part of this in a teeny tiny way, but was HUGE to us. They asked us if we would be willing to photograph the event. We jumped at the opportunity and couldn’t wait as the day approached.
The theme for the night was “focused.” I can’t speak for everyone, but I know it is unbelievably hard for me to keep my focus in this crazy world where something is always competing for your attention. I struggle to give back to God in worship what He deserves even when I’m right in the middle of His house, not to mention as part of my everyday life. But the challenge for the night was to push all distractions aside, kids, spouse, work, finances, school, talent, lights, sound, stage…whatever…and just focus on Jesus. We have a deep need not just in the pit of our souls, but in every aspect of our lives that only He can fill. So even while we were shooting, there were many moments where I just had to stop and take in the moment of the love of my Savior and listen to what he has to say to me.
So enjoy the pics…but more importantly…enjoy Jesus. And if you don’t know the love of this man that I am referring to…please feel free to contact us. We would love to share the most important thing in our life with you. And if you want to join us for services at Southeast anytime…we’d love to have you!

This is one of our worship leaders, Brian Sites. He leads with an incredible passion. I’m glad he loves Jesus!

And this is Greg Allen, our other worship leader. It is absolutely 100% impossible to be around Greg and not smile.

I would love to introduce you to the incredibly talented Kyle Hastings. He is our intern in the worship department right now, and I will HATE when he leaves. He brings a whole other element to worship, and it is powerful!

If you ever wanted to see what worshiping Jesus with total abandoned is all about, just be in Carrie Davis’ presence for a matter of a few seconds. This girl lays it all on the line every time and gives Jesus all she has. She causes me to worship!

And this is Kendall Rutledge. She is the Programming Director at Southeast. But on top of having an incredible gift of direction, organization, and overall leading…she has one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard. But the most important thing you should know about Kendall, is that she gives it all to Jesus. It’s where and how she lives her life, right in the middle of being in love with Jesus.

So Matt was rocking this 100+ year old upright. It was amazing!

The musical director for Southeast is Paul Yerrick. Talk about talent. It is just oozing out of this guy! And we are so blessed that he has decided to use it for the ultimate audience of one! Thanks Paul…keep up all of your amazing work!

We are so blessed to have such an amazing culmination of talent at this church. God has truly given us a wide array of abilities and all of these guys surrender it every week, completely and wholly for God’s glory.
This is BJ Davis. He is a composer, producer, and orchestrator. All of that to say…the man is a genius!

This is Ryan Post. He is one of our youth worship leaders.

And these…are his AWESOME shoes!

If you can make out the words on Kyle’s shirt..it says…”not a fan.” You should really REALLY check out this movement. In a nutshell it is about not being a “fan” of Jesus who just follows from the crowd and doesn’t get involved, but diving deep and becoming a “completely committed follower.” Check out the testimonies on the website….they are beyond inspirational.

And this is what all of this is for…

finally…

To all the staff and volunteers at Southeast: it is truly my honor to work along side with you serving our risen, awesome, faithful, strong, wonderful Savior! You guys are so filled with talent and I am amazed every time I have the joy of worshipping with you. Thank you all for surrendering everything you have to a King who gave his life for you!
