Casey & Adam: MARRIED!

We had been looking forward to this day for soooooo long!  We loved both Casey and Adam from the first time we met them.  Then after we shot their engagement session, we knew we had found a perfect fit, and from that point on were counting down the days until their June wedding!  Finally the day arrived and things could not have played out more perfectly.  While Casey and Adam were careful to make sure every detail was done just right, it was obvious that the one thing that these two cared most about was the fact that at the end of the day…they would be married.  That was the most important detail, and wow, they nailed that one!

We had such a hard time narrowing down pics for this blog entry, so while this one may be a little longer than most…we think you will agree that it is well worth your time!  We hope through these pics you can catch just a glimpse of how AWESOME this couple is!

The guys went out golfing while the girls were back getting all beatuified.  So…of course, we were there too!

OK…we know you guys have heard us talk about carefree brides before but, Casey, puts them all to shame!  Jenna, the maid of honor, (and who’s wedding we are shooting next month) was touching up Casey’s make-up before we got started shooting, when she ALMOST applied lip gloss to Casey’s eyes!  Casey never said a single word, just slowly kept leaning away.  Thank goodness, Jenna realized what she was doing before it was too late, and finally got the lip gloss in the right place!  It was hilarious to watch!

Talk about breath-taking….

Casey and Adam chose to see each other before the ceremony.  Now don’t get us wrong, we do love the classic tradition of waiting for that big moment right when you walk down the aisle.  There will always be something timeless about that.  However…as photographers we LOVE LOVE LOVE when couples choose to meet and take photos before the wedding.  It just allows for so much freedom to get tons of those great shots without having to worry about being in a hurry to get to the reception.  We also request that for the first little bit, that it be only us and the couple.  So, this may be one of the few times that it is just you and your soon to be spouse.  This method can be just as special and unique.  Just thought we would give all of you future brides something to consider!!!

The next few pics are from their first look and from those first few minutes we got with them while no one else was around!

Finally:  Mr. & Mrs.

New Albany, Wedding Photographer

Casey, Adam, 20 something bridal party members (yes your read that right), and us all piled onto the party bus to get the festivities started a little early!  There was drinking, there was dancing, and there are definitely memories we will never forget!  Thanks for letting us tag along!

The reception was the ultimate finish to their amazing day.  Their family and friends did not disappoint either.  There was some serious movin’ and shakin’ out on the floor this night.  We hope you guys had the time of your lives.  We certainly did!

The ceremony was held at Casey and Adam’s home church of Graceland Baptist.  It was decorated perfectly, and was probably the only place big enough to hold all of their family and friends.  The reception then moved to Kye’s.  Everything from the catering to the DJ made this a perfect party.  We highly recommend either of these two places to any future couple who would like a elegant wedding and a slammin’ party!

We always say that we have the BEST jobs in the entire world.  We get to see couples be in love, plan amazing, gorgeous weddings, and party with them ’til the sun comes up….what could be better?  And Casey and Adam just solidified that thought for us all over again.  These two were so incredible to be around, and everyone around them just seemed to catch that smile that they couldn’t contain.  Casey, you truly were a breath-takingly beautiful bride, and Adam, we truly appreciate the man that you are and the amazing husband that we know you will be to Casey.  You two light up every room you walk in, and not just on your wedding day, every day.  Thank you guys so much for letting us be a part of something so special.  We thank you for the opportunity to now call you two friends.

Jesse & Ashley: ENGAGED!

If there ever was a couple who had to work for their e-sesh…it is this couple!  They actually had a different photographer who was going to take their engagement pics for them, but when they found out that our package included them, they went with us!  YEA!!!! But they had tried to book one session with her before they met us and were cancelled due to rain!

The first time we set up the session we went to the lovely, quaint little town of Bardstown.  We were about 20 minutes into the shoot when it just started down pouring!  We had a little fun with some umbrellas, but it just got to be raining too hard so we had to post pone the rest of the shoot.

Finally we were able to meet up on a beautiful, sunny day in downtown Louisville.  We roamed around for a couple of hours and came up with some fabulous stuff that I hope they and you will enjoy!

We love going to new places every time we shoot.  We had rumor about this awesome, old run-down train station.  We asked if Jesse and Ashley were up for it, and turns out it was PERFECT!  Despite, some funky smells and crazy sights, the location is phenomenal and we think the result is nothing short of AWESOME!

Next we headed down to the waterfront to grab some last minute sweet shots, in some even sweeter light!

Jesse and Ashley have got to be the most flexible couple we have ever had the pleasure of working with.  The only thing we hate is their wedding isn’t until May of 2010!  But we hope these pics will hold us over until then!

You two clearly are perfect for each other.  You make each other smile and laugh, unlike anyone else.  It was so easy with these two, to just let them do their thing while we had the pleasure of shooting it!  We hardly had to direct any thing!  Thank you guys so much for just being exactly who you are!  See you in May!

When Ashley and I met with you guys, we knew that it would be a GREAT fit! I can’t wait to see the rest of them! There are ssoo many decisions to make when planning a wedding, and this one is defineately the best so far! I’m so excited to see the wedding pictures come May 2010.

Nice work Raquel!!! Your creativity amazes me!!

Abby & Joshua: MARRIED!!!!!

Wow.  When we first met Abby & Josh at their very first client meeting we walked away with a huge smile on our face.  This was a couple who really knew what marriage was all about.  They were not concerned with all the little details that bog down so many Brides and Grooms and can sometimes end up ruining their day when things don’t go right.  Abby and Josh only cared about one thing:  that at the end of the day…they would be married; forever, ’til death do they part.  And you could see it written all over them.

*Photographer’s note:  Never rule out the possibilities!  We were not sure when we first arrived at the church where we were going to do the pre-wed shots when Brian and Eric stumbled across the awesome little, red, run-down, barn across the street from the church….and oh, what a gem it turned out to be!  So always keep your eyes peeled for creative locations.  Hope you love ’em!

how do you spell “stud?”  The answer….JOSHUA!

Abby:  you are one of the most STUNNING brides we have ever had the privilege of shooting.

Abby had her baby bracelet with her in her boquet.  So we borrowed it for some fun little details.

Do not look at the next few pictures if you are offended by genuine, true, deep, fun, passionate, real love.

Yes, those are train tracks.  Yes, Abby and Joshua are awesome!

blue shoes? LOVE! 😀

Louisville, KY

Abby & Joshua:  You guys were an inspiration.  We loved watching you guys laugh, snuggle, smile, kiss, interact, and love each other all day.  You guys were totally focused on being in love.  You did a wonderful job of planning all the little details that were simply beautiful in every little way.  But none of that mattered when you two laid eyes on each other.  Your tears and your smiles just showed how much you guys had been waiting and praying for this day to get here, and it truly was an honor to witness it.  Thanks for having us there.  And thanks…for being you!

Dear all future bridal parties we will be shooting,

Please, please, please, go for the bouquet like this!  This girl was fierce!!!!  Look at this intensity!  And guys, I want to see some fight in those eyes for that garter!

Sandi Hawks - June 7, 2009 - 7:10 am

The photos are phenominal! I am in awe! Can’t wait to see the rest! Everyone that has seen the blog or the facebook page has said “WOW”! Thanks so much for caring so much to make my baby’s wedding a beautiful memory!
Sandi Hawks-mother of the bride 🙂

Melinda & Derrick: in love….still.

We have known Melinda and Derrick, well at least Melinda for over 10 years now.  She has been a friend of ours for it seems like forever….and Derrick, could not be a better fit for her.  Melinda and Derrick contacted us a couple of months ago about taking some updated photos of them before their family expands and it can no longer be just the two of them!  We were more than excited to shoot these guys!  Hope you enjoy!

When this is our very first picture out of the camera, we know we are going to have a blast!

One thing is for sure….50 years from now…these two will still be making each other smile.

Doesn’t this shot just make you want to leave your computer right now and go cuddle someone?

Louisville, KY

Their sense of style, their killer good looks, their sense of humor, everything about Melinda and Derrick is AWESOME!  We had so much fun shooting them and seeing their cute, cuddly side.  We don’t think Melinda and Derrick know how to not put a smile on their faces.  It just came so easy to get these two to laugh and have fun in front of the camera.  But not because of anything we did….they are just that much in love and happy with one another that it just oozes out of them.

Thanks so much guys for letting us see this little part of your life.  It truly was our privilege to be asked to be a part of this moment in your life.

Casey & Adam: ENGAGED!

Cute?  No.  Sweet?  No…that’s not it either.  Fun?  Well, yes, but that’s still not the perfect word.  That’s it….PERFECT!  Casey and Adam are perfect for each other.

They chose their location.  Which we love, love, love, when couples do this!  It makes the session so much more personal to them and speaks to who they are as a couple.  Casey and Adam chose to go to the Clark County Forestry in Henryville, IN.  It was A-MAZ-ING!   Acres and acres of forest, ponds, overlooks, playgrounds, and awesomeness!  We hope you guys love these as much as we do.

check out this view!

Casey: “There’s a really cool fire tower up the hill.  Would you guys want to go over there?”

Us: “Uhhh….yes, please.”

yummy light….

Adam: “There’s this secluded gravel road and field just over the way.  You guys game for that?”

Us: “Uhhh…..yes, please.”

As we were driving around we saw a super cute “merry-go-round.”  Brian and Eric immediately got an idea in their head.  The result:

we had to go a little artsy with this one…

Henryville, IN

Any couple that has ever been shot by us or any one that follows this blog regularly could tell you we adore cuddly, kissy, “bring it in tight”, photos.  Casey and Adam had no shortage of these!  However, Adam made the comment to us that with all of this kissing, he felt like he was making up for something he did wrong!  Well, Adam…you did nothing wrong…in fact, if evidenced by these photos, you did everything right!  (side note:  he really didn’t mind….we promise!)  😉

Casey and Adam were totally prepared for this shoot.  They had 4 outfits ready.  They scouted the location and were so excited to rock it for our cameras!  We had so much fun following them around the park.  Every single location they took us to was perfect.  We could not have asked for a better couple.  Maybe we should offer them a job, just scouting locations for us!  Interrested guys?  😉

Seriously, thank you guys so much.  We can’t wait to continue the journey with you guys in June!
