Shawn & Jordan: ENGAGED! | Louisville Wedding Photography

Finally…a day with no RAIN!  Well…sort of.  If you are anywhere near the Louisville, KY region, you are well aware of the non-stop rain we have been experiencing.  And while I am usually a glass half full kinda gal, who would normally be thankful for the rain and the life that it brings…as a photographer…I HATE IT!  We had rescheduled this session with Jordan and Shawn 2 or 3 times and had actually cancelled it this time.  But we got to looking and about an hour before we were slated to shoot originally, the sun popped out and we decided to go for it anyway and just pray the rain held off!  LUCKILY…it did!  Finally, some cooperation from the weather gods!

I rarely have a down-side to any of our shoots.  But this one is a little different.  They will be viewing this from Louisiana.  Boo!  They have both lived here for the majority of their lives, but a degree and a promising new job has taken Shawn down to the shores and of course, Jordan is following.  I hate when couples who we find AWESOME and would love to hang out with more decide to up and move away from us!  But hopefully…they’ll stay in touch really well!

They wanted a few shots of stuff trademarked to Louisville so that when those homesick feelings arise they would have some shots to look back on and smile big.  So I hope we gave you guys all you wanted and more.  I am super excited to show these off, and can’t wait to hear what you guys think!

I mean really…could they be any cuter?  They have a ridiculous ability to make each other laugh and relax in each other’s arms.  I’m so glad we were able to spend a little time with them and take some great pics before they up and moved.  I hope you guys are settling in well and I can’t wait to talk to you soon!

Clint & Michelle: MARRIED! | Louisville Wedding Photographer

8 years!  8 years in the making!  These two have been together for over 8 years, so this day had definitely been a long time coming!  It was beautiful to watch, fun to be a part of, and special to witness such perfect love and admiration for each other.  We had a blast working with them…even got to visit a carnival throughout the day!  I mean…who gets that?  Lots of people get married in churches…but who gets to have a few fun wedding pics at a carnival!  Be sure to check out the slide show at the end for more fun pics!

Clint and Michelle, I hope you are enjoying your honeymoon….and I hope you love these when you get back!

Happy Birthday, Brian!

I write this now while you are at work.  You have no idea I had this planned, and you probably will hate me for making such a big deal about it.  Because you’re just, “that guy.”  The guy who hates attention being given to him.  The guy who hates for people to look his way.  The guy who can’t stand recognition.  But the reality is your “my guy.”  I love to make a big deal out of your birthday.  To me it marks another year we have spent together and another year of falling more madly in love with the man who is my best friend and the most amazing father I could ever dream of.

I’m glad that we have spent another year chasing our dreams, breaking a few rules along the way, and living this crazy life together.  I know I get asked all the time how a catch like you ended up with an awkward, loud, crazy girl like me…and well, I honestly don’t have a good answer.  But I consider myself more blessed every day that I get to lay down beside you at night, and wake up next to you each morning.  I am completely undeserving of such a loving, generous, kind, thoughtful, compassionate, strong, godly, and funny man in my life.  You completely exemplify everything I wish I was in my own life.

I love you.  I love watching you be an incredible father to our 2 1/2 children.  I love watching you be an un-wavering friend.  I love watching you serve Jesus with your whole heart.  I love having you as my best friend.  So here’s to you babe….Happy Birthday.  Can’t wait to spend the rest of my life making a big deal out of them for you, because…well…you deserve it!

Baby Callie’s Big Party!

So this past weekend I had the pleasure of attending a dear friend of mine’s baby shower to help gather all of the little things that sweet baby Callie Jane will be needing.  Felicia has been a friend of mind for years…in fact thinking about it, I think we are approaching 13 years of friendship!  Starting out, we could not have been two more different people, I was a rough, awkward, odd looking, freckly, red-head who rocked out a black leather jacket and a hideously bad hair cut.  She was a funny, kind, sweet girl, whose only inelegant tendency was her obsessive love for her mickey mouse sweatshirts.  But somehow God thought it necessary to strike up a friendship between us.  And I could not be more thankful for her presence in my life.  She is not only one of my dearest friends who I would trust with anything, but also my wonderful hair dresser who helps to look much much less goofy and ridiculous than I did way back in those days!  She makes me laugh, she has cried with me, and I could not admire more of who she is than I do in this moment in time.

I have also known her husband and baby Callie’s daddy, for almost the same amount of time.  Adam is a strong man, who loves Jesus, leads his family, and could not be a more perfect fit for both Callie and Felicia.  He is a man, that follows God’s calling on his life with a fierce passion that has always inspired me to be a better version of myself.  Not for him, or for others to see, but for Jesus to be more glorified.  He is fiercely funny, and compassionate to a fault.

I wish I could adequately describe how excited I am to see these two amazing friends of mine become parents.  I have watched them date, standing strong through some unreasonably difficult times.  I have watched them develop one of the most passionate, strong, inspiring marriages that I could ever think of.  And now, I get to watch them be parents.  I know they have been praying and hoping for this little girl for long before she was ever conceived and while she has been growing and they have been preparing for her arrival, I know the prayers and emotion they already have sunk into this little girl’s life, and I can’t wait to see the amazing little things that sweet Callie Jane is going to do for God’s glory as a product of these two amazing people!

undefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedHad to sneak in a quick pic with the guest of honor.  She is 8 months pregnant and I am only 6ish….its not surprising to me that she looks WAAAAAAYYY more attractive and beautiful than I do!  But oh well, at least I get to gloat in the fact that I have gorgeous friends!undefinedThe picture below is hilarious to me!  This is all of Felicia’s friends (well pregnant friends) at her shower!  (Except for her sister on the far left holding sweet Natalee born just 5 weeks ago)  Have you ever seen so many preggy ladies all in one place?!?!?undefinedundefinedShepherdsville, KY

So obviously her theme for the shower and the nursery was owls.  It is an adorable nursery and Callie will look perfect in it!

The shower was thrown by Felicia’s best friend, and my great friend as well.  Jessica is shown in the picture above, in the middle.  She is crazy talented and awesomely talented.  She specializes in paper invitations and announcements.  You can check out her work at  She made all of the little favors and decorations for the shower….told ya she was awesome.

Felicia’s mom provided the delicious food and adorable owl pillows to decorate the food table… can’t tell she’s ready for baby Callie to get here can ya?  The also perfectly done diaper cake was done by her mom as well.  It’s amazing how many talented, crafty, amazing women are in Felicia’s life!

Finally the precious cake matched perfectly to Callie’s nursery and was done by my super talented friend Julie.  She makes amazing cakes that not only look awesome, but are INCREDIBLY delicious!  For her info, feel free to contact me!

Felicia and Adam….can’t wait to meet the newest and most perfect addition to your guy’s family!  Can she be here now, please?
