Shawn & Jordan: MARRIED! | Louisville Wedding Photographers

If ever you could picture a couple who would grow old together, sitting on their front porches, laughing, smiling, hand in hand….it’s these two.  They make each other laugh like no one else can.  There is an un-denyable “comfortableness” (I don’t think that’s a word, but it should be…:D) that they have with each other.  They are not overly extravagant, or overly outspoken.  In fact, Jordan was so worried about all the attention being on her today that she feared she might pass out!  But together, these two are so relaxed, simple, and sweet that everything just flows naturally for them.  And we, as the guests on this day…just got to sit back and watch something new and beautiful come together.  It was awesome!

ummmm…..the word stunning doesn’t do you justice.

BOOM!  Look at those eyes!

We really couldn’t have asked for more perfect weather for a late March wedding!  Not too hot, not too cold…PERFECTION!

I loved watching you two together.  The following pics are how love should be.  Yesterday, your wedding day, EVERY DAY.

Shawn…you’re look quite handsome yourself!

Their bridal party was TONS of fun!  But I should probably explain the two images on the right….Jordan and Shawn were married on March 31, 2012.  And while this day may seem like a perfectly fine, normal day to get married, If you are from KY you know why this day was pretty significant.  This day was the day of the big Final Four Showdown between the University of Kentucky and the University of Louisville.  And in this state…people are passionate about their basketball!  So either you bleed blue, or glow red.  You either shout Cats, or spell C-A-R-D-S!  So, in respect to the BIG GAME…everyone had to show their alliances!  Since the bride and groom are UofL allums…they of course were hoping for a victory for the “dirty birds”, but a few of Jordan’s bridesmaids were die hard Cat fans!  And just for fun…I have to say…GO BIG BLUE!

How gorgeous is this church?!?!?!

And even though we had already done a “first look” with the gorgeous bride and groom, we wanted to take advantage of this awesome sunset, and snag a few more shots at Big Springs Country Club!  So glad we did!

Then we partied the night away!  So much fun!  There were tears and lots of laughter….GREAT GREAT NIGHT!

The night was capped with a perfect send off with sparklers and Jordan and Shawn….well they will live happily ever after!

Ray & Amanda: LEAPING INTO MARRIAGE! | Louisville Wedding Photography

It all started with a radio contest and ended with a dream come true and a day full of memories no one will ever forget.  A local radio station here in Louisville, KY, 99.7 WDJX, announced that they would be looking for a couple to take a “flying leap” into marriage.  Amanda and Ray jumped on the opportunity and submitted their story.

Amanda and Ray are both full time nursing students and more than full time parents to a sweet little 2 year old girl.  Unfortunately their precious little baby girl is completely non-verbal and requires multiple speech and occupational therapy sessions a week.  Like every good parent, nothing comes before their child.  So when Ray asked Amanda to marry him on father’s day last year and they began to plan a wedding, it unfortunately became apparent that they were not going to be able to afford the dream wedding Amanda had always hoped for.  Finances were stretched to the max with paying for their daughters care and putting themselves through school.  Sadly, Amanda begin letting go of the hope for the big dream wedding she had softly been planning since she was a little girl herself.  She hid her emotions, hid her sadness and tears, and started trying to recapture any deposits she had made to some wedding vendors.  They were just going to have to settle for a quiet, simple, basic ceremony.  Amanda and Ray knew that their little girl and her well-being was far more important than any wedding, so they had accepted their decision.

Do a quick fast forward to February 2012 and Ray hears of a contest that DJX is running while driving one afternoon.  He quickly phones his bride-to-be and they decide to take a chance and submit their story!  And you can guess the rest….THEY WON!  They found out on Friday, February 24th, that they would be wed on Wednesday February 29th and the rush of taking care of details began.  So the frenzy of inviting family and friends, finding a bridal party, getting dresses, tuxes, marriage license, and all other crazy wedding activities got under way.

We were so excited to be asked to be a part of such an awesome event.  The staff at DJX pulled out all the stops and worked like crazy to make sure that Amanda and Ray got the amazing wedding they signed up for and had always dreamed of!  Check out their unforgettable day below!

The day started out at Louisville Mega Caverns Mega Zips

(normally we meet our bride and groom several times before the big day arrives, but this time…this was our first meeting!  Sure glad they had on the “tux t-shirt” and bride t-shirt to help us out in identifying them!)  😉

Ray and Amanda were so excited!  They couldn’t stop smiling!

This was our first zip!  It got quite a bit more exciting from here on out!

DJX Radio Personality, Sarah Jordan!

These two were so sweet to each other all day.  I know that seems simple, like duh….it’s their wedding day, they’re supposed to be sweet.  But there was this unspoken awareness and sensitivity and consideration toward each other.  I loved watching them through out the day.

Amanda and her Maid of Honor/Sister comforting each other before a big zip!

And after the final zip down, it was wedding time!

Personal vows brought us all to tears.  Soooooooo sweet!  Even when wearing a pink veil and a tux t-shirt….it still packs a punch!  🙂

WHAS-11 News was on hand to interview the couple right after the I-do’s!  You can see the story HERE!

DJX staff:  (L to R)  Jake Minton, (Promotions Director), DJ Kelly K, and DJ Sarah Jordan

Then it was off to the Shearton Riverside Hotel to get all dolled up for the fancy reception ahead!

Check out this amazing ring set by Genesis Diamonds!

Seriously….could she be any cuter?!?!?!

Lookin’ Good, Ray!

Love a first look!  The look on Amanda’s face, says it all.  She chose to have her daddy give her away in this moment, and in my opinion…perfection!

Love this sweet moment!

Such an adorable couple!

I love how happy you two make each other.

Amanda…you are gorgeous.  You have a perfect, timeless, elegance about you.

Special thanks to Gigi’s Cupcakes, The Calumet Club, SUP dj’s, The Cafe, and Chaney’s Events for putting on an INCREDIBLE reception

The happy couple being introduced for the first time as Mr. and Mrs.

Just a simple picture to show how the rest of the night went.  Laughter, Romance, and Happily Ever After.

Joshua & Angela: MARRIED! | Crestwood Wedding Photography

Tough pasts, a whirlwind romance, a fairytale wedding, and a fabulous, passionate future ahead.  This perfect describes these two.  They came together out of chance, and immediately fell in love.  From the moment Josh first met Angela, he knew she was exactly everything he never knew he needed.  She makes him smile.  He wants to care and provide for her.  He loves looking ahead to his future now.

Angela just glows when Josh comes around.  When she looks at him, she smiles.  The simple joy she overflows with when she is around him is the exact thing every little girl hopes for when dreaming of her knight in shining armor.  Angela is sure that she has found her prince.  It was pure joy to be around these two on their wedding day.  The kind of love they share is happy, sweet, joyful, bright, forgiving, protecting, hopeful, tusting and perfect.  Their love, this kind of love, will never fail.

You guys know I’m a sucker for a great shoe!

Angela….you’re gorgeous.  Hope Joshua tells you that every day…because he should!

Angela…you got yourself one good lookin’ man there sista!

I LOVED this little chapel.

I’m so glad we were able to be a part of this wedding.  This one was extra special for us as it is Elizabeth’s brother.  So we would’ve been there anyway, but to experience the day with our cameras in hand and to be able to capture all of this…truly was our blessing.  I hope you guys will cherish these photos for the next 100 years!  Congratulations!
